About this Venue

The Cove is a privately owned, certified tree farm. The Cove covers about three thousand acres ranging from one to three thousand feet in altitude in the Appalachian Mountains and a part of The Cove has been developed to provide outdoor recreation for the general public. It is the desire of the present owners to share the charm, solitude, and beauty of The Cove with those who love the outdoors.

The fees for activities at The Cove vary depending upon the type of activity that you are interested in partaking in. Camping and Cabin rates are based on a 24 hour period, other activities such as ATV riding and rifle range use are charged by the day of use. The rate structure for each type of activity can be found on the cove website, if you have specific questions regarding rates you may call the office at 540-858-2882.

ATV and Motorcycle trails are open all year. The operating time for the trail system is 9am to 5pm. The trail system is comprised of four loop trails that range from 2 miles to 22 miles in length. Most of our trail system is geared toward the experienced trail rider, though we do offer a beginer loop for the less experienced. The trail system is located on The Cove’s property, the terrain is mostly suitable for 4X4 style ATV’s though you are welcome to bring sport quads and Motorcycles if you prefer. The rates for riding are $30.00 per person per day, discounts are available.

The Cove is home to over 60 miles of offroad trails, this network of trail is open for use during events only. The trail system is comprised of tight rugged rock trail designed to offer maximum challenge to even the most experienced driver with the most capable equipment. Again The Cove offers access to the trail system during scheduled events only. If you would like to contact The Cove regarding setting up an event please see our contact page. The trail system also doubles as a safety system allowing access for fire services to limit the spread of a wildfire.

The Cove is centrally located within easy driving distance of Baltimore, Washington, Richmond, and Pittsburgh. Go to Gore, 12 miles west of Winchester on U.S. Route 50 West and turn left on Route 751. Take a left onto Route 704 and drive 4.5 miles to Route 683. Take a left on Route 683 and drive 1.5 miles to the Cove headquarters

Camping: Per person per 24 hours. Each Adult- $20.00, Each Child (Ages 2-11)- $10.00. Minimum Fee per Site- $35.00. Deposit Fee- $40.00 Per Site. Deposit fees are charged only to those people wishing to make a reservation. Deposit fees are credited to your bill upon arrival. Reservations may be canceled with in two days of the original arrival date for a full refund. There is a $5.00 fee for making reservations, IE a $35.00 credit will be applied to your total bill. There is a 3-night minimum when a reservation is made on holiday weekend. There is a 2-night minimum with a reservation on all other weekends.*
